Problem Note 45342: Performance degradation can occur in a SAS® environment that uses load-balanced SAS® Stored Process Servers
In a SAS® environment that makes use of load-balanced SAS® Stored Process Servers, you might notice below-average performance when you run SAS® Stored Processes. The degradation is evident especially in performance testing situations or when you process heavy loads.
The performance issue is caused by an error in the communication between the SAS Stored Process Server and the load-balancing component. The error causes the cost value for a host to be artificially inflated, which makes the host and all servers on that host unable to receive any work.
When this issue occurs, it can be difficult to diagnose the cause of the degraded performance because there is no error reported to the SAS Object Spawner log.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
Note: SAS® Integration Technologies customers who use SAS Stored Process Servers are required to apply the hot fix that is associated with this SAS note. The hot fix applies to both SAS® 9.3 (TS1M0) and SAS 9.3 (TS1M1).

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
You might experience degraded performance when you use load-balanced SAS® Stored Process Servers. The performance problem is a result of miscommunication between the SAS Object Spawner and the SAS Stored Process Servers.
